Older Gentlemen don't go to Shit!

Ok guys just because you get older doesn't mean you need to let your hair go!! Or let hair grow out your nose & ears!! And can we talk about trimming your eyebrows???? And it is NOT true that they grow in thicker if you trim them!! Having a 3 inch long eyebrow hair is just wrong! I blows my mind when I see all these older men that have jobs being on TV as commentators and their hair looks like it has been cut by a FlowBee and their color looks crazy!! There IS a way to color your hair that makes you look younger and doesn't look like you have your hair colored. I'm sure guys are saying "I don't care why should you?" Hell I don't care if you don't and if your happy then by all means Rock that nose hair! I'm just putting it out there that men DO have options now in Grooming more so than in the past, so take advantage of it you may really like it! And ladies you can encourage good grooming by buying them gift certificates!! Valentines day is just around the corner. Here are some East Coast and West Coast men's salons you can check out.

You inspire me (Dedicated to Beck's)

Haven't written in my Blog in about a week, wrote about being sick and how stylist should handle it and BAM I get the FLU! So on my down time I have been in bed trying to just get my body back to normal! I did speak to a friend of mine who before being a friend was my trainer, co-worker and mentor. When I first started at the salon in NYC Beck's was my trainer and head stylist and I remember during my interview they asked if I had a problem being trained under someone younger than myself, I was like "No as long as they are teaching me something I don't know" and Beck's certainly did that and after a few years when I did find out how "young" Beck's was I was even more impressed by this amazing driven woman who had the talent, drive and passion for hair and being an amazing business woman. Beck's left the salon almost 2 years ago to make a life change in work and love, move to ATL BIG difference from NYC doing hair and in my mind I wondered if she would be satisfied with what she would find working in a smaller city that didn't have everything NYC has to offer. She went through her up's and down's with job's there and the money wasn't the same as NYC but she was seeing how things worked in other aspects which is the best learning experience one can have a personal learning experience. ATL had it's purpose and then her and her love moved back to her home town of York, PA NOW were talking small town compared to NYC and ATL but her hart (family) and home are there. I have had the pleasure of acquiring some of Beck's clients when she left and when I find out little bits I give them the info, when she first went to ATL everyone was like "How is she going to Make It going down a step from NYC, she's too driven she wont be satisfied!" I always said she is following her Hart and she needs a break from being SOOOOOOOOOOOO driven after NYC she was losing her passion she needs to breath. Well now York, PA people probably would think oh man she really has taken a step back WAY back! Nope I never thought that when I heard that I know she was going where she was strongest and had the love and suport to be the best she can be and after talking to her this weekend I found out she is opening her own place in York and we talked about "who will I be" coming from some small city and I pointed out if you read your industry magazines and see interviews with salon owners and stylist they are NOT all from BIG cities actually most aren't! Think about it if your GREAT you will shine no matter where you are you are the one to decided how far your shine will reach, it has no boundaries and with Beck's she will be one of those stylist/salon owners we will be reading about in our trade magazines.

I wrote this to tell people it's so important to have mentors, people that inspire and think outside the BIG box and realize you can be successful no matter where you are if your willing to do the work and learn your trade and also say I am Blessed that I had Beck's as my trainer and Mentor and from afar she is still mentoring me! Good Luck Beck's your on the right path!
